Three days is the ideal amount of time to truly feel the rhythm and beauty of Con Dao. The following itinerary is designed to balance a variety of activities, making it suitable for groups with both divers and non-divers, ensuring every member has a memorable experience.
Day 1: Island Arrival & Historical Immersion
- Afternoon (12:00 PM): Arrive in Con Dao (at the airport or port), transfer to your hotel, and check in. Enjoy a delicious lunch of fresh seafood at a local restaurant.
- Afternoon (2:00 PM): Begin your journey into the island’s heroic past. Visit the Con Dao Prison Complex, with key sites like Phu Hai Camp, the French Tiger Cages, the American Tiger Cages, and the Con Dao Museum.
- Evening (6:00 PM): Have dinner. Afterwards, pay a respectful visit to Hang Duong Cemetery to light incense for the fallen heroes and visit the grave of Vo Thi Sau. This is a very special spiritual and cultural experience.
Day 2: The Ocean’s Call & The Forest’s Whisper
This is the day for group members to split off based on their interests before regrouping in the afternoon.
- Morning (8:00 AM) – Option A: For the Divers

- Rent a motorbike and start your nature adventure. You can choose to hike a short trail in the National Park to reach Ong Dung Beach, or ride north to visit Ben Dam Port and enjoy the scenic views.
- Afternoon (2:00 PM): The whole group reconvenes and heads to Dam Trau Beach. Relax, swim at the beach famed as the most beautiful in Con Dao, and get a thrill from watching airplanes land right over your head.
- Late Afternoon (5:30 PM): Make your way to Shark Cape (Mui Ca Map) to catch the most spectacular sunset on the island.
- Evening (7:00 PM): Enjoy dinner at the night market area or a restaurant of your choice.
Day 3: Morning Serenity & Farewell
- Morning (7:30 AM): Wake up early and breathe in the fresh island air. Take a walk and photos at the historic 914 Pier. Afterwards, enjoy a rich Vietnamese coffee at Con Son Kafe or another seaside cafe.
- Morning (9:00 AM): Visit the Con Dao Market to buy local specialties like tropical almond seeds or oyster sauce as souvenirs.
- Noon (11:00 AM): Return to your hotel, pack your bags, and check out. After lunch, head to the airport or port, concluding your fulfilling trip.
