The Core Next Step: The Advanced Open Water (AOW) Course

This is the most logical and popular step after your Open Water certification. Don’t let the word “Advanced” intimidate you. This course isn’t designed to make you an expert; it’s designed to “advance” your experience through adventure dives.

The course consists of five dives, each focusing on a different skill or area:

• Two Mandatory Dives:
  1. Deep Dive: Provides you with the knowledge and skills to safely dive to depths of up to 30 meters (100 feet).
  2. Underwater Navigation: Teaches you how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques to always know where you are.
• Three Elective Dives: You get to choose based on your interests. Popular choices include:
